Why are we doing this?

For those suffering the ravages of global heating now.

For the future of our children and grandchildren.

For our environment, our animals, plants, and beautiful world.

We are alarmed that if left unchecked, global heating will blight their futures.

We know that fossil fuels, coal, oil, and gas, are the chief culprits of global heating.

We know that exploring and processing new gas fields through drilling and fracking will do untold damage to sacred sites, including Murujuga (Burrup Hub)

We are acutely aware that Western Australia produces vast quantities of gas and intends to produce much more.
We are appalled at what our state is doing and the harm it will inflict on our children, their children, and future generations around the world.
Our government and so many of our parliamentarians have been captured by fossil fuel corporations, who have little respect for the land or its Traditional Custodians.
They will avoid meaningful climate action for as long as possible.

Exploring and processing new gas fields in culturally sensitive areas will yet further damage First Nation peoples and destroy forever some of the world’s most important historical art assemblages.  This surely constitutes a crime against humanity: it must be stopped!

We must fight back and demand that they protect our children and grandchildren and the spiritual heritage of First Nation Peoples.
As they rightly should.
That is why we are cycling to Canberra.
That is why we seek your support and involvement.
To Phase Out Gas!
